Engineering Management Admissions Criteria

Our M.S. in Engineering Management (MSEM) admissions team seeks to enroll applicants with a diverse range of educational backgrounds and professional expertise. In fact, we believe that your experience as a technical professional tells us more about your capabilities than a standardized test, so we do not require the GRE or GMAT. If you have any questions about your qualifications for our MSEM program, we encourage you to reach to the admissions staff for guidance.

Candidates for the program should have:

  • An undergraduate engineering, technical or science degree (preferable)*
  • A minimum of three years of work experience (For applicants who have less than three years of full-time experience, internships are also considered.)
  • The ability to contribute in a dynamic, interactive classroom environment
  • A strong record of performance in the workplace
  • Current employment (preferred but not required)

On average 7 percent of our MSEM students have non-traditional (liberal arts or or non-engineering/science undergraduate degree) backgrounds. In these instances, prior statistics or calculus coursework is useful, but not required. We encourage interested MSEM applicants with non-traditional backgrounds to reach out to the admissions staff to review your specific situation.
