MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT

Learn to lead technical professionals. The world, and your career, will benefit.

Tufts Gordon Institute's Master of Science in Engineering Management is a 21-month, part-time graduate degree program designed specifically for working engineers and technical professionals. Our pre-planned, fully architected program focuses on topics - business knowledge, technical acumen, strategic thinking and leadership skills - critical to students' success in technology-driven companies. With our Master of Science in Engineering Management program, all the details are mapped out - from enrollment to scheduling to class materials - and taken care of with our full-service approach. We take the guesswork out of obtaining your degree, so you can focus on what matters most: learning.

Unlike an MBA, the Tufts Gordon Institute's Master of Science in Engineering Management curriculum is tailored to issues facing technical leaders. Our emphasis on practical leadership skills provides students with the knowledge not only to manage diverse groups, but to truly lead teams and cultivate innovation in their company. Survey data from recent alums show that with the skills gained through TGI's Master of Science in Engineering Management program, 50 percent of students receive promotions before they graduate; 95 percent are promoted within two years of graduation; and approximately half report average annual salary increases of 20 percent after graduating.

MSEM Program Director and Professor of the Practice Mary Viola discusses the use of technology in the class "Learning to Lead."

Coupled with our technology focus is our renowned faculty. Steeped in real-world experience, 80 percent of the program's faculty have either previously or currently hold executive positions in industry and are experts in their respective fields - making them uniquely suited to educating and mentoring you. In addition to the breadth of knowledge provided by the faculty, students learn from their classmates' years of professional experience. MSEM students contribute unique points of view based on their experiences in the defense, biotech, healthcare, medical instrumentation, electronics, telecom, computer hardware/software and construction industries.

The structure of our Masters of Science in Engineering Management program provides you with the contact time that is required to build close working relationships with faculty and other graduate students. The intimate, dynamic learning environment will encourage you to share your perspectives, challenge you to think creatively, and enhance your ability to work in teams. Best of all, with convenient weekend and evening programs, our Masters of Science in Engineering Management program helps you advance your career without interrupting it.

We understand it is a major undertaking to go back to graduate school while working full-time and we want to assist you in making the choice that's right for you. We encourage you to attend one of our information sessions to learn more about the program and to speak with faculty, alums and current students. Our admissions staff is always available to answer any questions you may have via an in-person visit, or by phone or email.
