ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT MINOR

The Engineering Management Minor is a leadership-focused course of study that emphasizes real-life experience and engineering practice, not just theory. A Tufts engineering degree combined with an Engineering Management Minor will give you a competitive edge and equip you to make significant contributions as soon as you enter the workplace. The minor in Engineering Management is available for all engineering undergraduate students at Tufts.

Students who have completed the necessary requirements to earn the minor in Engineering Management should complete the appropriate minor certification form:

Minor Certification Form Before F09 (PDF) (for students who began the Engineering Management Minor coursework before the Fall 2009)
Minor Certification Form F09 and After (PDF)  (for students who began the Engineering Management Minor coursework in the Fall 2009 term or after)

Requirements:
Five courses are required for this minor. All five courses in the minor must be taken for a grade. Course descriptions are available at http://uss.tufts.edu/stuServ/bulletin.

Four are designated:
(PLEASE NOTE that there have been some recent changes to the minor requirements and course numbers, as indicated below):

  • EM051 – Engineering Management (EM051 replaces ES052, ME054)
  • EM052 – Technical and Managerial Communications (EM052 replaces ES051)
  • EM153 – Management of Innovation
  • EM054 – Engineering Leadership

One must be selected from the School of Engineering Elective Options or the General Course Elective Options listed below:
