Steve Geary

Lecturer – Supply Chain Management

Steve Geary has worked with organizations around the world in a variety of industries and, through frequent speaking engagements and publications has become known as a leading expert on supply chain design and performance.

His recent articles have appeared in distinguished journals including Harvard Business ReviewSupply Chain Management ReviewDC VelocityDefense Transportation Journal, andInternational Journal of Production Economics. Steve is a Contributing Editor at DC Velocity Magazine, and editor-at-large for Supply Chain Quarterly. In addition to being part of the faculty at Tufts Gordon Institute, he is a faculty member and research associate at University of Tennessee’s College of Business Administration on the topic of Performance Based Logistics. Since 2002, Steve has been involved in a broad range of projects across the aerospace and defense industry. He has conducted extensive research in Performance Based Logistics, including specific work on aligning supply chains to support the Combatant Commander’s strategic intent. Through 2006 and 2007, Steve spent the majority of his time on the ground in Iraq seeking to revitalize and stabilize Iraqi Industry through employment. Steve also works extensively with OSD’s Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics function, in Aerospace and Defense commercial enterprises, and with the individual military services.

During his career, Steve has held executive positions in manufacturing, materials management, business development, product marketing, and product management. His prior employment experience includes Teradyne, Inc., PRTM, Emerson Electric Co., and IBM. He has worked in the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East.

Steve holds a BS and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Cornell University and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. He is a Certified Production and Inventory Control Manager and is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, Who’s who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.
