THE CURRICULUM: INTEGRATED. RIGOROUS. REAL-WORLD.

Our unique curriculum consists of a defined sequence of classroom sessions combined with real-world, project-based activities. The classroom sessions are highly interactive and intense and provide students with the broad base of knowledge they need to manage within a functional area as well as across functional lines. Project activities give them valuable experience in leading teams and working with others on issues that are relevant to technology-based organisations. Moreover, the real-world focus of our curriculum allows students to immediately apply what they learn to their jobs.

The degree requirements for the Master in Science and Engineering Management programme in India are identical to those of our U.S. programme:

Classroom Learning

EM 210 Quantitative Methods for Engineering and Management
EM 220 Product and Process Development
EM 230 Project and Operations Management
EM 240 Technology and Multinational Business Strategy
EM 250 Humanistic Perspectives of Leadership
EM 260 Leading Teams and Organisations

The courses above are each broken down into a series of four or five integrated modules. The content of the modules is tailored to the specific needs of technology-based organizations operating in India and around the world.

Experienced-Based Learning

EM 280.1 The Practicum
EM 280.2 The Project

The practicum, carried out between the first and second years, is an opportunity for students to work in a team to assist their own company or another non-competing company in solving a particular problem. The project, the cornerstone of the curriculum, requires individual students to apply what they learn in the classroom by conducting all phases of a major project that will provide specific value to their company.
