Our Mission
When we developed the Master of Science in Engineering Management programme, our goal was to enhance engineering productivity and the
ability of companies to compete in the global marketplace. Over the
years, we have remained true to our mission, yet we continually
update the curriculum to keep current with advances in technology
and a constantly changing business environment. We hire faculty who
are not only experts in their subject matter, but who are also able
to translate theories into real-world applications that have true
meaning for our students. We enroll students who bring advanced
technological expertise and years of experience into the classroom.
Our graduates continually demonstrate their ability to have a real
impact on the professional practice of engineering, and the
successful operation of organizations around the world.
 Master of Science in Engineering Management: Better than an MBA
Tufts University's Master of Science in Engineering Management is
the most relevant postgraduate degree programme for preparing
world-class technical leaders. The unique value we offer companies
and students is our focus on engineering and technology management.
Unlike a traditional MBA, Tufts' Master of Science in Engineering
Management is designed specifically for working professionals with
technical backgrounds. Our students study topics critical to success
in engineering management that are not included in a general
business degree programme. The curriculum emphasizes product
innovation and development, project management, and technology and
global business strategy. It also provides in-depth exposure to
quantitative tools for product development and technology
management. Case studies and projects relate directly to
technology-based organisations. Our students all have technical
backgrounds and thus can share workplace experiences that are
meaningful to everyone in the classroom. The result? A significantly
