M.S. in Engineering Management Degree Gaining Popularity

Recent articles in U.S. News & World Report and the Financial Times point to a growing trend of individuals seeking out Master in Science in Engineering Management Degrees. Rebecca Knight from the Financial Times writes, “A MEM (Master in Engineering Management) is becoming the interdisciplinary degree choice for those wanting a career that spans both operations and technology.”

The MSEM class of 2010 joined their families and the Tufts Gordon Institute faculty on the evening of May 19, for a graduation reception to celebrate the students’ collective accomplishment. Reflecting on the two years, Director of Tufts Gordon Institute Rob Hannemann remarked on the difficulties of completing the rigorous two-year program, but added, “your work isn’t over yet, as there are a multitude of issues in our world that need the leadership of engineers.”

Tufts Gordon Institute Hosts Engineering Leadership Seminar

Students, alumni and members of the Tufts Gordon Institute’s community gathered on January 16 for a lively panel discussion titled, “Bridging the Engineering Leadership Gap: Pathways to Leadership” in the ASEAN Auditorium. Director of Tufts Gordon Institute Engineering Management Program Mary Viola welcomed more than 100 attendees to the seminar. She opened her remarks by invoking a shared passion across the global technology community; “We are all united in helping engineers and technologists become leaders to affect positive change in the world.”

Bernard Gordon, founder of Analogic and co-founder of NeuroLogica, has committed $40 million to Tufts University School of Engineering. The school will continue to collaborate with Tufts Gordon Institute on engineering leadership initiatives.

M.S. in Engineering Management Program Now Offered in New Evening Format

Tufts Gordon Institute is expanding its M.S. in Engineering Management program and will launch an evening format in the fall of 2009. With two formats to choose from, weekend or evening, prospective students will be able to select the format that best suits their lifestyle and work schedule.
