Where were you in your career and what drove your decision to go back to school?
I decided to go back to school because I wanted to significantly expand and enhance the skills I have already developed throughout my internship, work, and leadership experiences. I knew the Tufts MSEM program’s rigor and reputation for excellence would allow me to achieve my career goal of becoming an accomplished leader in the engineering field. Completing the program would also meet my personal goal of gaining the best education to further my career in the most timely and efficient manner.
Why did you choose to pursue a M.S. in Engineering Management at Tufts?
The curriculum content was appealing to me because it has enriched my understanding of topics such as new product development, marketing, project management, and corporate finance –all of which will be essential for me to succeed as a leader in today’s challenging and competitive global marketplace. Also, the experienced-based learning approach has been especially appropriate for me since I learn best by applying specialized theoretical knowledge directly to practical situations.
What is your favorite part of the Tufts MSEM experience so far?
My favorite part of the Tufts MSEM experience so far has been the cohort setting. Learning from my impressive group of peers and professors, all of whom possess extensive real world experiences in a variety of industries, has provided valuable new perspectives. In addition to extending my professional network, I’ve enjoyed getting to know my classmates on a more personal level while eating dinner before each class and celebrating the same milestones. The Tufts MSEM cohort structure truly fosters a sense of community which distinguishes the program.
