The Tufts MSIM program is built around fast-paced, immersive ventures called Innovation Sprints. Each semester, you’ll work with a team to identify problems that matter, prototype solutions, and synthesize business and financial models that scale. With each of your three Innovation Sprints you’ll go through the entire innovation cycle from ideation to rapid prototyping.
“We produce innovation leaders who can immediately identify worthy challenges and create radical solutions, whether it’s for a green field startup or within an existing enterprise.” – Kevin Oye, MSIM Director and Professor

Your big team projects are supported by small seminar-style courses. They’re interactive, in-depth, and taught exclusively by Tufts professors who have decades of experience running innovative companies and social ventures.
MSIM courses include:
“Finance with Frank Apeseche and Data Science with Tom Breur had the biggest impact on me. Both of these professors have been so helpful to me outside of class, going above and beyond what is required. These classes taught me valuable skill sets that were immediately useful to me in my career and in my personal life. They taught me to answer two critical questions: ‘How is this going to create value?’ and ‘What is the best possible decision to move forward?’” - Benny Kim, MSIM '17, Greentown Fellow, Greentown Labs
As an innovator, you know that what you do now can drive serious transformation in the near future. Your MSIM experience isn’t just about a diploma. It’s mentorship from well-connected faculty. It’s a semester-long capstone leadership project. And it’s access to 7,000+ jobs through the Tufts Career Center database. Whatever inspires your innovative spirit, we’ll help you answer the call.
We keep MSIM class sizes small. You really get to know each other, and your professors. MSIM students come from around the world and have varied interests. Building sustainable cities. Consulting for tech start-ups. Developing innovative biomedical solutions. Want to learn more?
