The Tufts Ideas Competition is designed for early stage business ideas. Winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize, mentorship and invitations to attend a robust series of workshops covering topics such as start-up legal considerations, funding and creating an effective pitch. Open to Tufts students, faculty and staff, the competition provides individuals with validation and support for a business idea.
The Montle Prize for Entrepreneurial Achievement is an annual competition that helps kick-start future leaders in the business and non-profit world. Paul Montle, a 1969 alumnus, created the award to commend outstanding Tufts students who demonstrate entrepreneurial skills.
Organized by the Gordon Institute's Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at Tufts University, the annual competition draws entries from alumni, faculty, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students from across the university. Teams compete for prizes and in-kind services totaling more than $100,000 in three tracks: healthcare and life science, social impact and general/high-tech.
The Stephen and Geraldine Ricci Interdisciplinary Prize is awarded annually to student teams that best demonstrate interdisciplinary engineering design and entrepreneurial spirit. The purpose of the prize is to promote the advancement of research at Tufts through projects that assist in translation of research discoveries from the laboratory to applications that benefit society
The goal of the Energy Innovation Competition is to support students to implement projects that explore solutions to key energy issues, inspire interdisciplinary research and collaboration at Tufts, and provide greater visibility of Tufts engagement in energy-related disciplines and fields. Applicants to the 2017 Tufts $100k New Ventures Competition may also enter the Tufts Energy Innovation Competition. Every Tufts student is eligible to apply, including engineering students, undergraduates, Tufts medical students, Fletcher students, and more.
