Amy Hirschfeld is a writer and publishing consultant with more than twenty years of experience in technical writing, editing, publications production, and marketing. She has worked for commercial, academic, and nonprofit clients. Hirschfeld has taught technical writing and communication at Tufts since 2001 and joined Tufts Gordon Institute in 2009. Previously, Hirschfeld held management positions in publishing, including North American Marketing Director for European publishers Brill Academic Publishers and Walter de Gruyter Publishers.
Hirschfeld earned a B.A. and an M.A. in archaeology from Tufts University and Harvard University, respectively. She has received recognition for her teaching, including Influential Individual and Best Course nominations from Tufts University students and a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching from Harvard University.
