The $100k New Ventures Competition, hosted annually by the Tufts Entrepreneurship Center, took place on Friday as 18 teams presented their pitches for innovative ventures, products and business plans. The competition features 3 tracks (Medical Devices & Life Science, Social Impact, and General Tech) and awards over $100,000 in prizes and in-kind services. This year, 5 of the finalist teams were made up of M.S. in Innovation & Management students - four of which ultimately won top rankings across each track, receiving most of the event's cash prizes!

Medical Devices & Life Science

Sterilyse, a non-surgical alternative to traditional methods of neutering pets, won both 1st place and funding for lab rental!

Hero Patch, an innovative drug delivery patch that administers localized pain relief through microneedles, earned 2nd place! They also received the annual Ricci Interdisciplinary Prize, which focuses on the commercial potential of new technology.

General Technology

Kandula Hard Kombucha, a delicious and refreshing alcoholic tea, tied for 1st place as well as received funding for startup space to continue preparing for their launch in market this summer!

Social Impact

CoPrep, an online B2C company that helps computer science students secure their dream jobs through personalized technical interview coaching, won a grant for startup space to house their venture.
