Tufts Gordon Institute Expands Offerings with Coursera
Tufts Gordon Institute has launched a Data Analytics for Managers MasterTrack® Certificate in partnership with Coursera – one of the world’s leading online learning platforms – all as part of an expansive effort to deliver practical, thought-provoking knowledge in a technology-driven world. Enrollment is open for the certificate with courses beginning this June.
“Given how critical it has become for every technical professional to make smart business decisions based on the massive amounts of data collected each day, we are excited to offer working professionals a revolutionary way to learn from our world-class faculty while gaining in-demand skills no matter where they are in the world,” said Kevin Oye, Executive Director of Tufts Gordon Institute; Director of the MS in Innovation and Management program, and Professor of the Practice.
He added, “Consistent with our mission to develop a worldwide community of transformative leaders, we welcome all technical professionals to learn both theory and hands-on, applied techniques for making data-driven business decisions from our faculty chosen for their deep industry experiences. As an early leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership professional education, Tufts Gordon Institute is well-positioned to offer an unparalleled experience.”
The Data Analytics for Managers MasterTrack Certificate will provide participants with the knowledge and practical leadership skills to make intuitive, data-driven business decisions, and spark innovative ideas that can make a difference in the world.
“Tufts is renowned for its innovative research, world-class professors, and collaborative education. Through this new program, learners from around the world can now access that world-class experience online — through hands-on projects, live sessions with faculty, and peer collaboration. Students will learn how to become data-driven technical leaders while earning a valuable credential that can count as credit if they choose to earn the full degree,” said Betty Vandenbosch, Chief Content Officer at Coursera.
The certificate will be delivered on the Coursera platform through five courses that leverage a blend of pre-recorded videos, live sessions, office hours, peer collaboration, and three hands-on projects. Participants will complete six hours of study each week over the duration of six months. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to count the certificate as four credits towards the Online MS in Engineering Management degree, providing savings in both time and cost.
Gerald Brown – Lecturer, Process Improvement and Supply Chain Management – and Kishore Pochampally, PhD – Lecturer, Lean Six Sigma; Process Capability; Systems Engineering and Optimization – will both lead the first offering of Data Analytics for Managers.
“I look forward to engaging with a cohort of driven professionals who are all taking the first step in furthering their expertise of data and analytics,” said Kishore. “With the rapid proliferation of technology and automation, commanding data will be key for leaders to make sound business decisions.”
This flexible program is designed to help professionals gain the skills they need to succeed amid a rapidly changing business landscape. Recent insights indicate a continued need, heightened by the pandemic, for advanced knowledge and skills in the backdrop of increasing professional demands.
