We develop innovation experiences. The focus is on immersive projects throughout the year-long MSIM program. You take what you learn in small seminars and apply it to solve real-world problems. All under expert guidance, where it’s safe to learn from mistakes. Collectively, all three Innovation Sprints will add tangible evidence to your resume for your job search, demonstrating your skills at identifying and driving innovation.
As important as technical skills are, it will be ever more important to rally others around a vision. When you graduate from the MSIM program, you'll be able to push forward what you're trying to accomplish because you've experienced what it means to be a leader.
Launched by students in the 2020 - 2021 cohort, Cerobex Drug Delivery Technologies is a novel lipid nanoparticle-based drug delivery platform that leverages the work of Dr. Qiaobing Xu, Associate Professor at Tufts University’s School of Engineering and School of Medicine. Cerobex won first place in the Entrepreneurship Center’s $100k New Ventures Competition, the Elevator Pitch Competition at University of Arkansas’ Heartland Challenge, and achieved many more milestones.
Launched by students in the 2019 - 2020 cohort, Cellens is working with Dr. Igor Sokolov to develop a noninvasive bladder cancer screening test. Cellens won the Tufts Entrepreneurship Center's Montle Prize for Entrepreneurial Achievement, Ricci Interdisciplinary Prize, and 1st place in the $100k New Ventures Competition's Medical Device & Life Science track. They were also selected as finalists in national entrepreneurial competitions, Heartland Challenge and the M2D2 $200k Challenge.
Born as an Innovation Sprint by students in the 2019 - 2020 cohort, FoodEase offers an integrated solution that combines grassroots preparedness training for community networks with a versatile digital dashboard that identifies who needs food, where they are, and how to get it. FoodEase leverages existing social media tools and mapping technologies with disaster relief planning and training to create informed, fast-acting food “hubs” that identify needs and critical resources - a mission that, given the COVID-19 health crisis, is more relevant than ever. FoodEase tied for 2nd place in the $100k New Ventures Competition's Social Impact category and was recently featured in the Tufts Now "Young Innovators" series.
Launched by a team from the 2018 - 2019 cohort, Anodyne Nanotech is shaping the future of patient drug delivery by leveraging microneedle technology in an effective and convenient flexible patch. HeroPatch, Anodyne Nanotech's primary product, won the Ricci Interdisciplinary Prize and 2nd in the $100k New Ventures Competition’s Medical Devices and Life Science track. They have also participated in the Tufts Venture Accelerator, San Francisco Bay Area Entrepreneurship & Technology Summit, NEHEN Summer Social, and Tufts Venture Road Show in Boston and New York City. The team recently closed a SAFE note round for $275,000 and is preparing for a primate study of their innovation and a $2 million funding round.
Created by students in the 2018 - 2019 cohort, Potencia is a nonprofit that leverages the power of community to provide refugees and immigrants with English language learning services. Potencia won 2nd place in the Social Impact track of the Tufts Entrepreneurship Center's $100k New Ventures Competition, and was recently featured as speakers during Boston University's IDEA 2020 conference.
Created by students in the 2017 - 2018 cohort, ZwitterCo is revolutionizing wastewater management through nanofiltration. In addition to winning Tufts Entrepreneurship Center's Ideas Competition and 1st place in General Technology track of the $100k New Ventures Competition, ZwitterCo has been awarded a $1.25M grant from the Department of Energy and $225K from the National Science Foundation. Until recently, the team had called Greentown Labs' tech incubator space home but is currently moving into their own office space in the Boston area.
