Accepted Student Resources

Welcome to the MS in Innovation & Management and Dual Degree programs!

We look forward to having you join the Tufts graduate student community! Whether you're considering your enrollment in the MSIM program or looking for resources to start your journey, please check out the information and action items below. We hope this helps get you started, excited, and prepared for your Tufts graduate experience.

First, please review the School of Engineering Admitted Student Information, including the New Student Checklist, and take the necessary steps to complete your enrollment process. If you’re an international student, then also refer to the Checklist for Incoming International Students. Lastly, see this "Getting Started" page for more details on how to set up your email and username, as well as how to access SIS and Canvas.

Your final, official university transcripts or mark statements must be provided to the Office of Graduate Admissions. If your degree is not posted on your transcript, you must also submit a certified copy of your degree certificate or diploma. These materials must be sent directly from the institution to Tufts; students cannot submit their transcripts on their own behalf. Admitted applicants who do not provide final transcripts will not be allowed to enroll. Please note: Tufts University recommends submitting your transcripts at least four weeks before the start of the semester.

Physical transcripts should be sent to:

Office of Graduate Admissions
Tufts University
2 The Green, Bendetson Hall
Medford, MA 02155

Electronic transcripts should be sent to: gradadmissions@tufts.edu

Key Dates & Activities

Academic Calendar

The MSIM program follows the standard Tufts University academic calendar. Classes for the Fall 2022 semester begin on September 6th. You can find all semester dates including holidays and breaks on the Tufts Academic Calendar. We recommend you bookmark the calendar. Additionally, there is a program-specific calendar that you will get access to during orientation. This calendar has additional events and required seminars listed.

Orientation

MSIM Orientation 2022 has not yet been scheduled, however, we typically schedule these events for the week before classes begin. The School of Engineering's Graduate Orientation has not yet been announced at this time.

Administrative Information

Registration

Fall registration opens for new students around the time that your estimated bill is generated. In order to register, you will need to clear any holds on your student account (SIS). This includes updating your address and adding an emergency contact. To clear holds, please log in to SIS after you create your Tufts University email. You can view holds on your SIS homepage.

In the fall semester, you are required to take MSIM core courses. You should familiarize yourself with the program curriculum.

Billing & Payment of Tuition

The MSIM program is billed by credit hours. You will be billed in July for the Fall 2022 semester. You will receive an electronic bill via email at that time, along with clear instructions on how to pay your bill. A payment deadline will be provided, and all tuition must be paid in advance of the semester starting.

You have the option to pay your bill using bank transfer, wire, a monthly payment plan, or student loans. View more information on the payment plan and how to submit a payment.

Student Handbooks

Students are subject to all Tufts University, School of Engineering, and Tufts Gordon Institute policies. You should familiarize yourself with the SOE Graduate Student Handbook and the MSIM Program Handbook (provided at orientation).

Health Insurance and Immunization Records

All Tufts students are required by law to have an active health insurance plan. If you are an international or domestic student and are not covered by a U.S. health plan, you will need to purchase health insurance either through Tufts or privately. To purchase insurance, please contact the Tufts Health Services team to determine and file appropriate forms with Health Services (617-627-5176).
