Steve Caplow has spent the last 25+ years building market-leading technology businesses - first as an executive and then as a consultant. He has consistently defined winning product strategies and campaigns, initiated successful acquisitions and partnerships, and built top-performing marketing teams. Steve is a master at presenting complex technology in a clear, concise and compelling way and has developed a proven methodology for creating effective messaging. He is a part-time faculty member at Tufts Gordon Institute in Medford, MA and the Institute of Product Leadership in Bangalore, India.
Prior to founding Caplow Associates, Mr. Caplow was the VP of marketing & business development for Empirix, Inc., where he led the marketing activities for the Web application test and performance management businesses. He initiated the original acquisition of RSW Software, upon which much of Empirix was based, and was instrumental in building the business from 0 to $25M/year in 3 years. The business was ultimately acquired by Oracle Corp.
Before that, Mr. Caplow was a Group Director at Cadence Design Systems, where he was responsible for a $100M functional verification software business. At Cadence, he led several successful product launches, initiated key acquisitions and OEM agreements, and drove strategic industry standardization initiatives.
Mr. Caplow spent the early part of his career at Teradyne, Inc. in a number of roles, including product marketing, application engineering and circuit/system design. He holds a BSEE from Tufts University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
