TGI Welcomes Four New Faculty Members
As the new school year begins, Tufts Gordon Institute welcomes four new faculty members to teach in our MS in Engineering Management (MSEM) and MS in Innovation & Management (MSIM) programs. We are excited to provide students with new perspectives from experts in their fields. Learn more about each new faculty member below.
Kathryn Roy
Kathryn Roy will be teaching Business Communications to MSIM students. She brings to Tufts over 30 years of experience in the field of marketing. As the Managing Director of Precision Thinking, she consults for some of the fastest growing and most successful B2B companies including IBM, Constant Contact, Avid, Lotus, AT&T, Kronos and the likes. Over the years she has held various high-level leadership positions across domains, steering multi-million dollar corporations towards success. Her areas of expertise include marketing and strategy for B2B technology and service companies, primary research, competitive analysis, sales enablement, sales playbooks, market strategy, positioning, and messaging. Kathryn holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MS in Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley, in addition to a BA in Math from Colgate University.
Monica Pheifer
Monica Pheifer, our very own alumnus, will be teaching a section of Engineering Management to the MSEM students. She is currently working as Quality Engineering Manager with Johnson & Johnson. She has donned multiple hats over the years with her experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Excellence, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and Logistics. She graduated from the Tuft’s MS in Engineering Management program receiving the Distinguished Student award in 2014. Monica is also a graduate of J&J’s Global Operations Leadership Development program and is currently pursuing her Six Sigma Black Belt certification. She also holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Sarah Stockwell
Sarah Stockwell will be teaching a Professional Development Seminar to MSIM students. She has 20 years of training and development experience in the private and educational sectors. Most recently, Sarah served as the Training Director for reacHIRE, where she managed, facilitated and delivered content to help women re-enter workforce after a career break. Prior to this, Sarah ran Parent Effectiveness Training programs in China based on the work of Dr. Thomas Gordon. In the past, she has worked extensively with graduate students at Tufts University for multiple professional development programs. She earned her B.A. in American Studies, and her M.A. in Museum Education, both from Tufts University.
Dr. Sergei Ikovenko
Dr. Sergei Ikovenko will be teaching Systematic Innovation to our MSEM students. He is one of leading consultants and project facilitators in innovation technology of design. He has conducted more than 900 courses on systematic innovation and TRIZ (Theory for Inventive Problem Solving) topics for Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Dr. Ikovenko holds two doctorate degrees – a Ph.D. in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering and Dr.-Eng. in Environmental Engineering and Sciences as well as Master degree in Patent Law. He is the author of more than 100 publications and books as well as 104 patents in various engineering fields. Dr. Ikovenko is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, QFD Black Belt and Lean Master-Practitioner.
