Fifth Year Master's Degree Program

Continue your education at Tufts University and earn your MS degree in only one additional year! All Tufts Gordon Institute graduate programs are eligible options for Tufts School of Engineering's Fifth-Year Master's Degree Program (BS/MS).

The School of Engineering offers Tufts undergraduate students the option of pursuing a Bachelor's degree and Master of Science degree. As a Fifth-Year student, you will have the ability to pursue courses during your Bachelor's degree that can apply towards your Master's degree, which in turn saves you tuition during your Master's degree since you need to complete fewer courses total. The total number of credits and courses required will vary depending on your chosen Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Apply if you:

  • want to save an average of 20% on your Master's degree tuition
  • reduce your course load in later semesters
  • speed up the time it takes you to get real world working experience
  • have the opportunity to experience graduate level courses while still an undergraduate student

The Tufts Fifth Year really allowed me to identify what I'm good at, what worked in undergrad, and go into my master's in a very seamless transition. I feel extremely prepared for my professional career in a way that the four years of undergrad didn't quite give me.
