Tufts Gordon Institute is pleased to announce that Corey O’Connor has been named the recipient of the Outstanding M.S. in Engineering Management (MSEM) Student Award for 2015. This award, established in 2010, recognizes an outstanding student graduating from the MSEM program each year.

Corey has distinguished himself at Tufts Gordon Institute by demonstrating excellence in all aspects of the MSEM program. He has performed at the highest level academically and provided leadership on team projects and to his cohort. While an attentive and responsive student in the classroom, Corey’s spirit of inquiry is visible and real. His work on his Team Practicum and Individual Leadership Project underscores his impressive spirit of creative entrepreneurship.

Corey received his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Management from Clarkson University. He is currently a Project Manager at Schneider Electric in Andover, MA. For his Individual Leadership Project, Corey is leveraging his philanthropic experience in Haiti and his background in automation to develop a water well monitoring strategy for a geological consulting company that works directly with the Haitian government.

Students are nominated for this award by their classmates and the members of the award selection committee. The nominees are evaluated based on their academic performance; team project performance (practicum & in-class projects); quality and progress on the Individual Leadership Project; leadership qualities; and growth in all dimensions throughout the course of the program.

Corey will receive his award at the Tufts University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering Award Ceremony to be held on April 24, 2015.
