Innovator’s Mindset Series Inspires Creativity in Tufts Gordon Institute Students

Tufts MS in Innovation & Management students learn firsthand from local leaders in innovation while building connections within the Tufts community.

The Innovator's Mindset series is an opportunity for MS in Innovation & Management (MSIM) students to meet and learn from local, cutting-edge leaders and discover hubs of innovation in the Boston area through field trips, speaker visits, and workshops. By offering a firsthand look at how innovation is driven both at Tufts University and at leading edge organizations in the Boston area, the Innovator’s Mindset series inspires students’ creativity and spurs their passion for their own innovative pursuits.

MS in Innovation & Management students at New Entry Farming Project

Here are just a few of the inspiring experiences MSIM students took part in this year:

New Entry Sustainable Farming Project

In the fall, MSIM students visited the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project at Moraine Farm in Beverly, MA. New Entry, an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, works locally, regionally, and across the country to strengthen local food systems by training the next generation of farmers to produce food that is sustainable, nutritious, and accessible. The trip helped forge new connections within the Tufts community and inspire the latest cohort of MSIM students!

Bose Park Place

At Bose Park Place, MSIM students had the opportunity to tour the makerspace while learning about the innovative culture that Bose has built for their employees. The visit was also an opportunity for MSIM students to connect with MS in Engineering Management student Joey Cirone (MSEM ‘23), forging connections between the graduate programs at Tufts Gordon Institute.

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University

In addition to their trip to Bose Park Place, MSIM students visited the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University to discover innovation happening within the Tufts community. Students had the opportunity to experience hands-on activities such as performing ultrasounds and CPR on fake dogs and cats.

SimpliSafe

At one of the last Innovator’s Mindset experiences of the year, students met with SimpliSafe employees from various departments and toured their new headquarters and makerspace, capping the year off with the latest in Boston innovation.
