We're happy to share the following official announcement from Dean Jianmin Qu that Kevin Oye has been appointed as Tufts Gordon Institute's next executive director. Please join us in congratulating Kevin Oye, and we look forward to an exciting future for the TGI community!

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Oye as the next executive director of Tufts Gordon Institute (TGI). Kevin has done a fantastic job leading the Gordon Institute as its executive director ad interim. I am confident that Kevin’s strong vision for TGI, along with his extensive experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and business management, will serve TGI and the university very well in the years to come.

As the recipient of a Tufts B.S. in electrical engineering and a former member of the School of Engineering’s Board of Advisors and Curriculum Task Force, Kevin knows Tufts well. He returned to campus in 2015 as the director of the Gordon Institute’s new M.S. in Innovation and Management program and as a professor of the practice teaching innovation and business strategy.

With more than 35 years of experience leading corporate strategy, product development, and merger and acquisition teams, Kevin brings a collaborative style and global mindset to his work. Under his stewardship, our MSIM program more than doubled in size and the Gordon Institute has flourished. Previously, he was the vice president of systems and technology at Sycamore Networks, Inc., and he held engineering and management positions in digital communications systems at AT&T Bell Laboratories. He received his M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Please join me in thanking Kevin for his strong leadership over the past year and congratulating him on his appointment as the Gordon Institute’s executive director.

Best,
Jianmin Qu
